Noonwraiths are tragic, malevolent specters born from immense pain and violent trauma, specifically young rural women who died horrific deaths right before their weddings. Haunting cultivated fields and meadows when the sun is at its absolute highest, these ghosts manifest amidst windless swaying grains to trap weary peasants in a morbid, life-draining dance. They do not bleed, are immune to physical pain, and can kick up blinding dust clouds to disorient their prey. The most famous encounter is the spirit Claer, known as the Devil by the Well in White Orchard.

Combat strategy

Noonwraiths are incredibly difficult to wound because they regularly turn immaterial and intangible. To defeat them, Geralt must trap them inside a Yrden Sign or strike them with a Moon Dust bomb, forcing the specter into a solid, corporeal form. Once forced into physical presence, execute fast attacks with a silver blade heavily coated in Specter Oil. Dodge their life-draining mirror images immediately.
