Contract: Dragon is a witcher contract in Skellige. The villagers of Fyresdal are convinced a dragon is terrorising the area. The witcher code forbids Geralt from killing true dragons, which are noble and intelligent creatures, but he decides to investigate anyway.
As suspected, the so-called dragon is nothing of the sort. It is a forktail, a large and dangerous draconid that has about as much in common with a real dragon as a dragonfly does. Geralt tracks down its nest in an abandoned siege tower, but the beast is not home. Rather than wait, he decides to lure it back with bait and fight it on his own terms.
Forktails are fast and aggressive in the air, so Grapeshot, Draconid oil and the Aard sign to knock it to the ground all help. When Geralt reports back, he can tell the village elder the truth, that it was never a dragon, or let them believe the more heroic story, which pays better.
