Overview
Redania’s Most Wanted is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and one of the three “assassins’ quests” connected to Reason of State, with A Deadly Plot and An Eye for an Eye. This one can fail without locking out Reason of State. It is set at Est Tayiar, Philippa Eilhart‘s old lair near Oxenfurt, and it fails if not completed before The Isle of Mists.
Into the lair
The witch hunters at Est Tayiar resent Geralt, since many of their own died trying to get in, but hand over the plate key. It opens the forcefield at the entrance. A weak wall nearby hides the Feline silver sword diagram.
The lair is a chain of portals powered by crystal cells. Aard charges a cell and wakes a portal. Along the way are nekker warriors, and a frightened survivor who clings to a power cell and will only give it up to Axii or a fistfight. A chest holds a letter to Philippa. Another cell is carried by nekkers on a lower path.
Philippa’s room
At the bottom, a fire elemental guards the way. Beyond it is Philippa’s room, with a broken megascope and a polished crystal by the right-hand column. It does not glow in Witcher Senses, so look carefully. A last portal to the right of the arrival point takes Geralt back to the start.
Who gets the crystal?
Outside, the witch hunters demand the crystal. Give it to them and they claim the credit, so Radovid does not pay Geralt. Refuse and you must fight them. You can then show the crystal to Triss or Yennefer first to see what it holds, and still hand it to Radovid afterwards for payment.
