Overview
A Midnight Clear is a secondary quest in Hearts of Stone and the romance option with Shani. It begins at the end of Dead Man’s Party, at the wedding in Brunwich, and fails if Geralt leaves the wedding area without finishing it. Romancing Shani has no effect on Geralt’s relationships with Yennefer or Triss.
A gift for Shani
Once Vlodimir has been sent back to the realm of the dead, Geralt can stay and bring Shani a small gift. Her journal entry hints that she loves rowan blossoms. There are four choices: a rowan branch from a bush near the barn’s ladder, chamomile by the pig pen, rowanberry brandy, or mead. Any of them can lead to a romantic evening. If she gets the rowan branch, she puts it in her hair.
The walk
If Geralt tells her he is hers, Shani says she wants someone who will be home every night, which rules out a witcher in the long run, but they can still enjoy one night together. The other option leads to a toast to friendship. On their walk, a kiss under the big tree leads to a boat ride out onto the lake and a night together. The two drinks give the scene a comic twist, while the flowers keep it romantic. By morning they talk a little more, and Shani leaves.
Remember that Geralt is still in his wedding clothes, so put your armor back on before heading off.
