Overview
Paperchase is a Blood and Wine secondary quest set in the Cianfanelli Bank at the Gran’place in Beauclair. Near Trentin’s workshop, a vineyard owner calls out to Geralt. Years ago he meant to pay the witcher for a job, but Geralt left before he could, so he opened an account in Geralt’s name at the bank. All Geralt has to do is collect it, with interest.
Permit A38
The bank opens at 8 in the morning. The teller finds that, according to the records, Geralt is dead, and fixing that requires Permit A38. Window 1 sends him to the records office upstairs, which asks for Form 202 first. Geralt can cut in front of the queue outside, but the man he skipped then challenges him to a fistfight outside.
Back inside, Window 1 is empty, and the clerk’s scent leads to the middle teller, who tells him to wait. A customer on the bench offers a game of gwent and some advice: be pleasant, and flowers or perfume never hurt. Any friendly approach finally gets Geralt access to his account.
The empty deposit box
Giacomo Cianfanelli tries to avoid the matter until Geralt shows him Anna Henrietta‘s summons. In the vault, the box turns out to be the problem, and Giacomo locks Geralt in behind the guards. Geralt can:
- Demand the money now. Fight the guards, take the key and confront Giacomo, who pays 200 crowns. Geralt can no longer exchange currency at the bank.
- Give him a week. Come back later to receive 500 crowns and the sword The Reckoner.
