The Pellar is a village holy man living near Blackbough in Velen. Pellars are rural soothsayers who heal, give advice and deal with the spirits of the dead, and this one does all three. His own childhood was grim: his father beat him and his mother until the boy killed him. As a man he has devoted himself to helping the people of the region.

In The Witcher 3

During Family Matters, Geralt visits the Pellar for help finding the Bloody Baron’s wife and daughter. The old man first asks him to find his missing goat, Princess. Once she is back, the Pellar has a vision of a child covered in blood, which becomes the key to the mystery. He had earlier given Anna Strenger a talisman against the Crones.

Later, in Forefathers’ Eve, he asks Geralt to protect him and a group of villagers during the ritual for the dead on Fyke Isle. He also sells diagrams, runestones, glyphs and alchemy ingredients at low prices.
