Bald Mountain is the main quest where Ciri and Geralt get their revenge for Vesemir. His death has left a hole in Ciri’s heart, and when Avallac’h tells her that Imlerith, the Wild Hunt general who killed him, will attend the Crones’ sabbath on Bald Mountain in Velen, she decides at once to go and kill him. Geralt, as usual, cannot say no to her, and the two slip out of Kaer Morhen at dawn.
The sabbath
The road leads back to No Man’s Land and up Bald Mountain, where the villagers of Crookback Bog have gathered, dazed and dancing, to worship the Ladies of the Wood. Geralt and Ciri split up to deal with the Crones, and Ciri gets to face the monsters who once tried to hand her over to the Hunt. Two of the sisters die, while the third escapes.
Imlerith
At the top waits Imlerith himself, and the duel with him is one of the toughest fights in the game. The general is a brute in heavy armour, and he gets even more dangerous as the fight goes on. When it ends, Vesemir is avenged, and Ciri’s spirits are higher than they have been in a long time. But Geralt knows this was just the beginning of the real battle.
