Echoes of the Past is a main quest in Skellige that follows directly from the theft of the Mask of Uroboros. A magical cataclysm has devastated part of Ard Skellig, leaving the woods strangely deformed, and Yennefer suspects Ciri had something to do with it.
Geralt and Yennefer travel from Kaer Trolde to the druids’ camp and on to the site of the cataclysm, a place where the land itself seems frozen mid-explosion. There, Yennefer uses the mask to reach into the echoes of what happened. The ritual draws unwelcome attention, and Geralt has to fight off foglets and other threats while she works.
What they learn confirms that Ciri was here, and that the Wild Hunt was not far behind. Ermion is furious that his ancient artifact was stolen and damaged, but he still cares enough about finding Ciri to point the pair towards the village of Lofoten, which the Hunt recently destroyed.
