Overview
Of Sheers and a Witcher I Sing is a Blood and Wine secondary quest in Beauclair. South of the Nilfgaardian embassy, the bard Adrien de Rouleau, known as Le Papillon, wants to compose a ballad about Geralt and needs a deed to inspire it. Jean-Louis Ludovic, a local barber, has gone missing. The pay is low, however much Geralt haggles.
The barber’s shop
Break down the door with Aard. Downstairs are empty pomade jars and a leaflet; upstairs are letters and a formula for hair balsam. Jean-Louis’s ledger suggests he left town to gather ingredients for his pomade, and Le Papillon knows where his map leads.
The trail
At the first spot, an archespore attacks. At the second, Le Papillon recognizes the barber’s basket, and footprints lead to a cave. Inside, a knight named Beau Duvall and his squires are beating Jean-Louis. A disastrous haircut shamed Beau so badly that he pulled out of the tourney.
Settling it
- Tell Beau that beating a hairdresser is hardly chivalrous, and he challenges Geralt to a duel. His squires drag him off wounded.
- Tell him hair grows back, and Beau and his squires attack; Geralt must kill them all.
Le Papillon performs his ballad but has no money. Jean-Louis pays Geralt himself and, back at his salon, becomes a barber who offers a unique haircut, the Queen’s Pageboy.
