Drowner
Drowners are grotesque, amphibian necrophages that infest the riverbanks, swamps, and shorelines of the Continent. Contrary to common peasant folklore claiming they arise from the corpses of drowned men, these creatures are actually post-Conjunction relics. Tormented by a feral malice, drowners hunt in tight-knit packs and rely on their surprising speed on land to ambush fishermen and washerwomen. They pull their victims beneath the water’s surface to tear them to shreds with sickle-like claws.
Combat strategy
While individual drowners are relatively weak, they gain immense strength by ganging up in packs. They are highly susceptible to the Aard Sign, which can knock them flat on their backs for an instant execution. Utilize fast combat styles with a silver blade coated in Necrophage Oil. Watch out for their sudden, lunging jump attacks and always try to bottleneck the pack.
