Bloody Baron is the main quest that brings Geralt to Crow’s Perch and to one of the most memorable characters in The Witcher 3, Phillip Strenger, the self-proclaimed ruler of Velen. Hendrik’s notes say Ciri stayed with the Baron, and Geralt wants to know what happened.
Getting in
If Geralt picked a fight with the Baron’s men at the Inn at the Crossroads, the guards at the gate send him away. An old villager nearby can point him to a cave that leads into the castle, where a water hag stands in the way. If Geralt kept the peace, he can simply walk in. Either way, he ends up face to face with the Baron.
A story with a price
The Baron turns out to be less bloody than his name suggests, at least at first. He is friendly, talkative and full of stories about Ciri, and the first of them plays out as Ciri’s Story: The King of the Wolves. But the rest of the tale is not free. Before he says anything more, Geralt has to find his missing wife and daughter, which sets up Family Matters.
