The reclusive lord of Dun Tynne, who unwisely let Syanna and her gang use his castle as their hideout.

Roderick is the lord of Dun Tynne in Toussaint, a domain he inherited from his grandfather, once a counselor to Duchess Adela Marta. Unlike most of Toussaint’s nobility, he keeps to himself and prefers hunting to court life. He turned down the Ducal Guard’s protection and formed his own Dun Tynne Guard, knights who are little more than robbers with crests on their shields.

In Blood and Wine

When Syanna, the disinherited princess, asked to stay at Dun Tynne with her gang, Roderick agreed without asking what she was really up to. Her schemes turned his castle into a headquarters for murder and blackmail.

In Capture the Castle, the Ducal Guard storms Dun Tynne. Roderick tries to flee, is stopped by Geralt, and admits that letting Syanna in was a terrible idea. He has no part in the abduction or the murders, and Geralt later tells Anna Henrietta that the only thing Roderick is guilty of is being a fool. Helping him with his wound counts as a Proof of Compassion for There Can Be Only One.
