Tellico Lunngrevink Letorte, better known as Dudu, is a doppler, a shapeshifter able to copy the appearance of any person. Most dopplers are hunted wherever they are found, but Dudu is gentle, clever and fond of the quiet life.
In the books
Dudu first appears in the short story “Eternal Flame” in Sword of Destiny. Posing as the halfling merchant Dainty Biberveldt in Novigrad, he gets into trouble, and at one point he even takes on Geralt’s own form to fight him. In the end, the real Dainty takes him in as part of the Biberveldt family.
In The Witcher 3
Dudu is hiding somewhere in Novigrad, the one city where a shapeshifter can easily disappear. He knows something about the missing Dandelion and about Ciri. To find him, Geralt and Priscilla stage a play in The Play’s the Thing, betting that a doppler will not be able to stay away from the theater. Dudu stays part of Geralt’s Novigrad investigation afterward, and turns up again in Count Reuven’s Treasure.
