Count Martin Monnier is a devoted gwent enthusiast. He and his late brother Igor once traveled to the Skellige Isles and were so taken with the islands that they created a whole gwent deck inspired by their history.

In Blood and Wine

Monnier hosts the Great Beauclair Gwent Tournament at The Pheasantry in Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament!. He lets Geralt enter on one condition: he must play the new Skellige deck. Monnier hands over the basic cards, starting Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here. If Geralt beats his first two opponents, Monnier himself is waiting in the semi-final, playing his beloved Skellige faction.
