Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament!

Overview

Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament! is the Blood and Wine gwent tournament, held at The Pheasantry in Hauteville, Beauclair. It starts from a notice, a pamphlet, or the host, Count Martin Monnier, on the inn’s balcony.

Entering

Monnier lets Geralt compete only if he plays the new Skellige deck. He hands over the basic cards, which starts Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here. Geralt must win enough Skellige cards before he may enter, and it is best to finish that quest first. Play the Pheasantry’s innkeeper beforehand, as the inn is closed off once the tournament is ready to begin, and she holds a card worth having.

Tips for the Skellige deck

The deck is flexible but relies on luck. Cerys is its strongest card, calling all the shield maidens to the board at once. Decoys are very valuable for reusing an opponent’s spies, medics and scorch units. With Crach an Craite as leader, Geralt can reshuffle his graveyard into his deck and reuse muster cards. Owners of Hearts of Stone can also add the Gaunter O’Dimm cards for a similar trick.

The tournament

A loss knocks Geralt out, but he stays locked in the quest until the event ends. Winning the whole tournament counts as a Proof of Wisdom for There Can Be Only One.

  1. Hamal ogn Dangbahli (Monsters). He offers to bet swords; winning earns the steel sword Blave.
  2. Ambassador von Hinn (Nilfgaard). Keep a decoy for his spies.
  3. The disgruntled dwarves from the entrance burst in, and Geralt must fight three club-wielding protesters. Mentioning Zoltan Chivay calms things down, and their leader is allowed into the final.
  4. Martin Monnier (Skellige), in what is now the semi-final.
  5. Yaki Rafiberg (Scoia’tael), the dwarves’ leader, in the final.

Rewards

  • Win every match: 250 XP, 1,000 crowns and The Victor’s Cup.
  • Lose only the final: 150 XP, 500 crowns and The Victor’s Cup.
  • Lose earlier: 50 XP and 100 crowns.
