Skjall’s Grave is a short but powerful main quest on Hindarsfjall, part of Battle Preparations. When Ciri and Geralt arrive on the island, Ciri says she wants to visit someone special: Skjall, the young man who helped her escape the Wild Hunt. Yennefer and Geralt exchange grim looks and tell her the truth. Skjall is dead.

Ciri goes to see his grave, only to find that there is none. Because the villagers still see him as a disgraced outcast, his body was thrown into a ditch like an animal carcass. Ciri is furious. With Geralt’s help she pulls the body out and buries it properly near the cemetery in Lofoten, much to the outrage of the local Skelligers, who see it as a violation of custom.

The villagers gather to confront them, and Geralt has to decide how to handle it: step in himself, or let Ciri deal with the crowd her own way. The scene shows how much Ciri has grown, and Geralt’s choice here is one of those that shape the ending.
