Blindingly Obvious is a main quest in Novigrad and part of Final Preparations. Triss returns to the city with one goal: to find Philippa Eilhart, whom the Lodge needs. It turns out Philippa has been right under everyone’s noses the whole time. Turned into an owl by a spell, she ended up with Zoltan, who, not knowing who she was, tried to make her a replacement for his foul-mouthed parrot, Field Marshal Duda.

Triss is not the only one who has worked it out. Dijkstra, who shares with Philippa the strongest bond there is, love turned into seething hatred, got there first. He has captured her and locked her up in his bathhouse. Geralt and Triss have to move fast.

The quest ends in a tense confrontation at the bathhouse, where Philippa, freed but blind after Radovid had her eyes gouged out, does not go quietly. Geralt has to deal with Dijkstra’s men and a fire elemental before the sorceresses can leave for the Lodge. It is a dark, tangled piece of the story, full of old grudges from the book and game history of these characters.
