Overview
Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls of Granite! is a comic Blood and Wine secondary quest in Beauclair. It starts from a notice on the Gran’place board or from Rolande, an art curator in Lolivier Square who is shouting that the exhibition is closed. He asks Geralt for discretion and shows him the statue of Reginald d’Aubry, whose stone testicles have been stolen.
The trail
Take the left stairs down from the statue to find a clue on the trellis, which reveals a scent trail. It leads out the front door, up the hill, west past the market and up the stairs beside the perfumery to a house where some unmistakable noises can be heard. Inside, Hughes de Saberre is putting the stones to use with a married woman, Rosalinda, and at first takes Geralt for her husband. Then the real husband arrives, and Geralt must beat him in a fistfight or calm him with Axii.
What to do with the stones
If Geralt loses the fistfight, the husband smashes the stones while he is out cold. Otherwise, he chooses:
- Let Hughes keep them. Hughes pays 50 crowns and promises more in a week. A week later, Rosalinda is weeping at his door: he died of overexertion, and the stones are gone. This counts as a Proof of Compassion for There Can Be Only One.
- Take them back, now or after lending them for a day. Either way, recovering them counts as a Proof of Honor.
Back to the curator
Without the stones, Rolande despairs and pays nothing. With them, he is thrilled and gives Geralt a Reginald figurine to display at Corvo Bianco. Once the statue is repaired, touching its fig leaf grants a buff called The Power of Reginald, which improves stamina.
