Overview
Wine Wars: Vermentino is a Blood and Wine secondary quest given by Matilda of Vermentino during the first part of Wine Wars: Belgaard. To strengthen her claim to the Belgaard Vineyard, she asks Geralt to deal with five problems.
The five tasks
- Guarded treasure northeast of the Sansretour Valley signpost. Kill two archespores and search the bodies for a heavy brass key and a letter on elegant stationery. The letter reveals a plot to sabotage the vineyards and is needed to start Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina.
- Hidden treasure southwest of the Prophet Lebioda statue. Kill three rotfiends. A journal on a body starts the treasure hunt Don’t Take Candy from a Stranger.
- Abandoned site at Dantan Glade, northeast of the Fort Astre ruins. Kill two archespores and wait for the site to be resettled.
- Person in distress at the Herbalist’s Hut, west of Fox Hollow. Rescue Matilda’s armorer from three bandits.
- Abandoned site at Pavone Slope, south of Lac Célavy. Kill a lone archespore; a love letter lies in the cart afterward.
Reporting back
With all five done, Geralt can report to Matilda at Plegmund’s Bridge, or first help Liam in Wine Wars: Coronata and investigate the sabotage. The order decides who gets Belgaard. When Geralt is paid also depends on it: sometimes on his return to Matilda, sometimes at Belgaard Manor later, or as part of Wine Wars: Consorting.
