Crippled Kate’s is a rough brothel in the lower part of Novigrad, close to the hidden entrance to the Putrid Grove, and it is the kind of place where the lighting is dim and the neighbours mind their own business. It does not have the polish of the Passiflora, and that is the point: this is where the city’s working folk go.

In the game, Kate’s is the setting of the secondary quest Out on Your Arse!, where a group of rowdy Skelligers has taken over the house and the girls ask Geralt to get them out. He can win a fistfight against their leader, fight all three of them or use the Axii sign to talk them into leaving. The reward is small, but the quest is a good example of the witcher’s lighter side jobs in Novigrad.
