A Bard’s Beloved

Overview

A Bard’s Beloved is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set in a cave at the end of a road east-northeast of the Palisade signpost in the Skellige Isles.

What happens

At the mouth of the cave, a troubled bard asks for help, then talks about his beloved deeper inside and begs Geralt to keep quiet so he does not wake her. That is odd enough to be worth a look.

His beloved is a talking water hag, lying among the skeletons of her earlier victims. Geralt can play along for a while or not, but it ends in a fight either way. When he comes out of the cave, the bard has fled, which is hardly surprising.

Walkthrough

  1. Find the cave east-northeast of the Palisade signpost and talk to the bard.
  2. Go deeper into the cave and kill the water hag.
