Overview
Shock Therapy is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set at the druids’ grove of Gedyneith on Ard Skellig in the Skellige Isles.
The silent druid
At a cave entrance west of the Gedyneith signpost, a druid explains that his colleague Egill has suddenly gone mute. He suggests scaring or annoying him into speaking, as long as Egill is not harmed. Egill, the “taciturn druid”, answers any attempt at conversation with a rude gesture.
The cure
Witcher Senses reveal three tricks, and each one has to match what Egill is doing at the time:
- When he is lying on his mat, use Aard on the pots.
- When he is praying on the rock ledge, use Aard on the hornets’ nest.
- When he is warming himself by the fire, put it out.
After the last trick Egill finally shouts at Geralt, then realizes he has broken his vow of silence. It was not an illness at all. He storms off to confront the other druid, who laughs about the joke and rewards Geralt with the Iorveth gwent card.
