Build a Gwent deck for The Witcher 3 before you sit down at the next tavern table. Pick a faction and a leader, click cards to add them, and the builder keeps track of the rules for you: at least 22 unit cards, no more than 10 special cards, and never more copies than the game actually has. Every card, including Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, comes straight from our Gwent card database.
This builder is for the Gwent you play inside The Witcher 3 (including Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine). The standalone GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is a separate game with its own cards and deck rules, so decks from it won’t work here.
How to use the deck builder
- Faction and leader: each faction keeps its own deck, so you can switch between them without losing anything. The leader’s ability and the faction perk are shown above the cards.
- Deck rating: every deck gets a score out of 100, split into power, card advantage, synergy and resilience, plus concrete tips. It spots half-finished Tight Bond sets, lonely Muster cards, rows that one weather card would wipe out and Scorch cards that could burn your own units.
- Only cards I own: tick your cards on the Gwent card checklist and this filter hides everything you haven’t collected yet. It reads the checklist saved in the same browser, so there is nothing to sign up for.
- Test opening hand: deals 10 random cards from your deck and lets you redraw two, just like the start of a real match. Great for spotting a deck that is too thin on units.
- Share, post and save: name your deck, then copy the link or post it to Reddit. Shared links show a picture of your deck with its leader, cards and rating on Reddit and Discord, and every finished deck you share also appears in our Gwent Community Decks. “Download image” saves the same picture, and “Save deck” stores the deck in your browser.
Deck rules in The Witcher 3
A deck needs one leader card, at least 22 unit cards (heroes and neutral units count) and at most 10 special cards. Weather, Commander’s Horn, Decoy, Scorch and Mardroeme are all special cards. Neutral cards like Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer fit in any deck. Skellige only becomes playable once you own Blood and Wine. Want a head start?
