Overview
Iron Maiden is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set on a hill east of Harviken on Faroe in the Skellige Isles.
Jutta an Dimun
In a ring marked out on the hilltop, a woman flattens her opponent and asks if no one can beat her. She is Jutta an Dimun, a shieldmaiden of Clan Dimun. She will not fight a nobody, so Geralt must first prove himself, either by beating Gundar in Harviken or by recovering Horned Hoskuld’s sword. If he has already beaten Olaf in Fists of Fury: Skellige, she knows his name and fights him right away.
The tasks
- Gundar: a sword duel in a ring. Leaving the ring loses the fight, but forcing Gundar out wins it.
- Horned Hoskuld’s sword: a sunken chest on the far west of Faroe, circled by ekhidnae.
The duel
Jutta’s fight must be fair: no Signs, crossbow, bombs or potions, or the quest fails. You get one chance. If she wins, it is over. When she yields, she asks where Geralt learned to fight and invites him to her home after dusk. Turn her down on the spot and the quest fails.
At her home, from 8 pm, she explains her vow to Freya: to marry the man who beats her and have his children. Geralt, being a witcher, cannot give her children. He can offer her a night together, or simply talk. Either way she decides it is time to leave Faroe. The night has no effect on Geralt’s relationships with Yennefer or Triss. If you do spend it with her, re-equip Geralt’s gear afterwards.
