The Grandmaster Griffin Steel Sword is the steel blade of the grandmaster Griffin School gear, the highest tier of the set, added with the Blood and Wine expansion. It is meant for humans, nonhumans and beasts, and its headline bonus is +21% Sign intensity (22% in NG+).
Compared with the Mastercrafted Griffin Steel Sword base damage rises from 284-348 to 335-409. Since patch 4.0 the recipe needs the mastercrafted sword, so the whole chain of Griffin steel sword diagrams is required.
Pair it with the Grandmaster Griffin Armor from the same tier, and with the Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword for the other half of a witcher’s kit.

Crafted by a grandmaster blacksmith at character level 40. The diagram comes from Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear, one of the hunts Lazare Lafargue starts in Master Master Master Master!. The recipe consumes the Mastercrafted Griffin Steel Sword.
