Ingrid Vegelbud is the head of the noble Vegelbud family, whose estate lies near Novigrad. She is the daughter of Patricia Vegelbud and the mother of Albert. In her youth she often traveled to her father’s estate in Brugge, where she spent her days riding.

In The Witcher 3

In Carnal Sins, Geralt arrives at the Vegelbud estate to warn that a serial killer is after Ingrid’s mother. Ingrid is skeptical, but agrees to check. When they open Patricia’s door, they find her dead as the killer escapes. The guards mistake Geralt for the murderer and the real one slips away. Ingrid lets Geralt examine the body while she weeps in the hall.

She also has ties to the mages. After her magical patron, the sorceress Myra Baiss, disappeared at the witch hunters’ hands, Ingrid contacted Triss, and in A Matter of Life and Death the two strike a deal: Triss helps smuggle Albert past the witch hunters, and Ingrid supports the mages’ escape from Novigrad. Her family also hosts the Great Erasmus Vegelbud Memorial Derby.
