Botchling

A Botchling is an exceptionally repulsive, cursed creature born from the improper, unburied remains of unwanted, stillborn infants. Looking like a grotesque, decaying fetal monster, it crawls into the chambers of pregnant women at night to drain their physical strength and blood. If provoked or filled with hunger, the Botchling transforms into a massive, muscular beast with razor-sharp back spikes and immense raw power. The most famous Botchling is the unborn daughter of Phillip Strenger, the Bloody Baron of Velen.

Combat strategy

Geralt has two choices: kill the monster or lift its curse by transforming it into a protective household Lubberkin. If forced into combat, the Botchling grows large, iron-hard spikes from its back that parry silver swords; use the Axii Sign to force the spikes to retract. The monster is highly agile and aggressive; use the Yrden Sign to slow its frantic leaps and coat your blade in Cursed Oil.
