Contract: Doors Slamming Shut is a witcher contract near Novigrad. Count Kurt Dysart’s manor, the Moldavie Residence on the city’s outskirts, seems to be haunted: doors slam, things move on their own, and nobody wants to stay there. Geralt agrees to take a look.
The house turns out to hide its secret not within its walls but underneath them. Deep in the elven ruins below the manor, a powerful earth elemental, a d’ao known as Therazane, has been imprisoned. The magical barrier holding it in place is failing, and if it breaks free on its own, it could flatten the whole neighbourhood.
Geralt decides to act first. He brings down the barrier himself and destroys the elemental in one of the tougher fights around Novigrad. Earth elementals are slow but hit extremely hard, so dodging, Quen and Dwarven Spirit are all worth having. With the creature gone, the “haunting” stops, and the count can move back in.
