Flesh for Sale

Pirates holding Trottheim on Faroe mistake Geralt for a slave buyer. He can play along to free the prisoners or cut his way through.

Overview

Flesh for Sale is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set in the pirate-held village of Trottheim on Faroe in the Skellige Isles. It becomes unavailable once Geralt talks to Lambert at the Seven Cats Inn in Following the Thread.

A case of mistaken identity

If Geralt enters Trottheim any way other than through the guarded west or east gates, he has to fight every pirate there. At the gates, the pirates take him for the buyer sent by a Nilfgaardian named Ville. Geralt can play along or correct them. If he keeps insisting, the whole village turns hostile.

Playing along, he is led to the leader, who remarks that Geralt does not look Nilfgaardian and asks for the agreed price. Geralt can pay 500 crowns, use Axii to convince him he already paid, or admit he is not a slaver.

Freeing the prisoners

If it comes to a fight, the slave driver’s body holds two keys: one for the leader’s house and one for the cell. The freed women thank Geralt and mention valuables in the leader’s house, which are well worth looting.

If Geralt plays the buyer to the end, the leader hands over the cell key, warning that the pirates are not responsible if anyone escapes. Geralt leads the women out through the west gate to safety, and they thank him.
