Overview
Rose on a Red Field is a secondary quest in Hearts of Stone. As Geralt leaves the Garin Estate during Evil’s Soft First Touches, Adela, one of Olgierd’s Wild Ones, stops him with a job: find out what happened to her friend Kluivert.
Bowdon
The village of Bowdon is overrun by ghouls. Once they are dead, Witcher Senses pick up the smell of chemicals. It leads to a house used for making fisstech, with a warning letter and footprints. The footprints lead to Kluivert’s body. Other tracks behind the fence lead to hoofprints in the center of the village, and from there out of town past a marsh with drowned dead.
The Fallen Knights
The trail ends at a bandit camp of Fallen Knights, remnants of the Order of the Flaming Rose. A letter on a wagon reveals their hiding place. Two knights guard the entrance: fight them, pay them off, or use Axii. Inside, their leader Ulrich recognizes Geralt as the man who killed Jacques de Aldersberg, the Grand Master of the Order in the first Witcher game, and orders his men to attack.
Reward
Afterwards, Adela is at The Alchemy in Oxenfurt. Geralt can tell her who killed Kluivert or just collect his pay.
