Fans of the Netflix series will have to wait a little longer for the ending. Season 5 of The Witcher, the final season, is now expected to arrive in 2027 instead of 2026, according to What’s on Netflix.
Where the series stands
Season 4 premiered on October 30, 2025, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt. Season 5 will be his second and last season in the role, and it is set to close the intertwined stories of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri.
Why the delay?
Netflix has not given an official reason. What’s on Netflix points to the heavy visual effects, large battle scenes and long post-production that a finale like this needs, and notes that the date may also fit Netflix’s plans for its 2027 schedule.
