A week after The Witcher 3 Remastered launched, CD Projekt Red has shared a clearer picture of what comes next. On October 5, 2026, the official Witcher account on X listed the fixes the team is working on, and said it is aiming to include many of them in the next update. It follows the two hotfixes we covered in Witcher 3 Remastered Hotfix 5.00c: What’s Fixed and What Comes Next.
What CD Projekt Red is working on
According to the studio’s post, as reported by Pure Xbox, MP1st and Insider Gaming, these are the main items on the list:
- More performance improvements, especially on PS5. PlayStation 5 players have reported frame rate drops, stutter and crashes since launch.
- Further visual adjustments. No details were given, but it follows the lighting and bloom changes already made in Velen on PC.
- My Rewards and Twitch Drops fixes. These cover the in-game rewards linked to CD Projekt Red’s My Rewards program and Twitch Drops.
- Ukrainian localization in more regions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, where it has so far been limited by region.
- Voiceover audio fixes on consoles. This is the problem where character voices drop in volume compared to the rest of the game.
Some outlets also report that work continues on bringing more mods to more platforms. CD Projekt Red’s community director Marcin Momot added that the team is looking into other reported problems as well, but no timeline was given for those.
When is the update coming?
There is no date yet. CD Projekt Red has only said it is aiming to address “many” of the listed issues in the next update, so not every item is guaranteed to be in it. The bloom fix that Momot and quest designer Paweł Sasko mentioned last week was not named on the new list, beyond the general promise of “further visual adjustments”. The Switch 2 version was not mentioned either; earlier reports said Switch 2 patches need Nintendo’s approval before release, which can add time.
What it means if you are playing now
For PS5 players the performance work is the most important part, since that is where most of the complaints have come from. Console players who keep missing quiet lines of dialogue can turn on subtitles until the audio fix lands. On PC the game is in better shape after Hotfix 5.00c, and as our look at the Witcher 3 Remastered reviews shows, the remaster has been well received apart from these launch problems.
If you are starting a new journey as Geralt, our Witcher 3 Remastered Beginner’s Guide covers the basics, the Witcher 3 Interactive Maps help you plan every region, and the Witcher 3 Hub gathers everything else. Looking further ahead, the third expansion is also on the way: read about Songs of the Past. We will report on the next update when it is released.
