Ignis Fatuus
Ignis Fatuus is an ancient foglet that has made its lair in a cave in the peat bogs of Velen, and it is the monster behind the witcher contract Swamp Thing. Foglets can live for more than two hundred years and only get nastier with age, and this one has had plenty of time to practise. It hits too hard to block, moves faster than Yrden can slow it, melts into the mist and reappears behind its victim, and fills its cave with convincing illusions of itself.
The local peat diggers, among them Leslav, would rather stay home than walk into the fog, and after meeting the thing you can see why. Only a witcher who knows his Signs and his sword stands a chance.
Combat strategy
Bring Moon Dust bombs, since stopping its regeneration makes the fight far more manageable, and keep Quen up or wear heavy armour, because its blows cannot be parried. Strike the illusions to reveal where the real foglet is, and step out of the fog to recover if needed, as it prefers to stay hidden inside it.
