Contract: Mysterious Tracks is a witcher contract near Lindenvale in Velen. A local hunter has found strange tracks in the woods and wants someone to tell him what made them. Geralt can also find the tracks or the cave on his own before reading the notice.
The tracks lead straight to a fiend’s lair, and at first it looks like a straightforward hunt. But Geralt soon realises that the fiend is not the real danger in these woods. Something far worse has been leaving those tracks: a chort known as the Howler, a massive, aggressive relict that charges its prey like a battering ram.
Chorts are all about brute strength, so dodging, Relict oil and the Quen sign are the keys to survival. Defeating the Howler rewards Geralt with the relic sword Azure Wrath, one of the better finds in Velen, and gives the hunter his answer.
