Mastercrafted Griffin Armor

Mastercrafted Griffin Armor is the top-level chest piece of the Griffin School gear, the strongest of the base game’s four levels (basic, enhanced, superior and mastercrafted). It is medium armor built for a Sign-focused build, and its headline bonus is +20% Sign intensity.

It is the component needed to craft the grandmaster version in the Blood and Wine expansion, the Grandmaster Griffin Armor. Compared with the Superior Griffin Armor the armor rating goes from 165 to 205. The rest of the mastercrafted set: gauntlets, trousers, boots.

The matching blades from the same tier are the Mastercrafted Griffin Steel Sword and the Mastercrafted Griffin Silver Sword.

How to obtain

Craft

Crafted by a master armorer once you have the mastercrafted Griffin armor diagram. The recipe consumes the Superior Griffin Armor, so craft it first. Requires character level 34.

Diagram location

All four Mastercrafted Griffin armor diagrams are in a cyclops’ lair on the east coast of Ard Skellig, southeast of Whale Graveyard and north of Redgill, in Skellige. Climb the rocks on the north side up to the cave; the diagrams are in the left of the two chests.
