Archpriest
The Archpriest is a high-ranking churchman in the Prologue of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. He presides over the monastery inside La Valette Castle when King Foltest storms the castle to take back his children.
In The Witcher 2
After the fighting on the walls, Geralt makes his way into the monastery in To the Temple and finds Foltest at the church with the Archpriest. Confident that his god will protect him, the Archpriest greets the intruders with a stern rebuke. Geralt uses the Axii Sign on him, and he gives in and reveals where the king will find his illegitimate children, Anaïs and Boussy. A nobleman present objects to magic being used on sacred ground, and Geralt can either calm him down or slap him.
What follows sets the whole game in motion. In Blood of His Blood, Foltest is reunited with the children, lowers his guard and is murdered by an assassin disguised as a monk, the kingslayer Letho. Geralt is found with the king’s body and accused of the murder.
