Best Witcher 3 Remastered Builds: 5 Featured Community Builds From Our Build Planner

Witchers have been busy. Since we opened Community Builds, players have shared well over a hundred of their own setups from the Witcher 3 Remastered Build Planner, everything from quick early-game ideas to fully planned level 100 endgame builds. Every week we go through the new ones and hand-pick the builds that stand out. Here are the five current Featured Builds, what makes each of them tick, and how you can share your own.

What is the Witcher 3 Build Planner?

The Build Planner is a free skill calculator for The Witcher 3 Remastered, built on the skill values from the current version of the game. You can plan a complete character without spending a single point in your save:

  • All four skill trees: Combat, Signs, Alchemy and General, with the same unlock rules and rank limits as the game.
  • Skill slots and mutagens: fill the active skill slots and pick a red, blue or green mutagen for each group to see the bonus it gives.
  • Mutations: choose a Blood and Wine mutation such as Euphoria, Conductors of Magic or Piercing Cold.
  • Gear: pick steel and silver swords, armor pieces and a crossbow from our item database, and add runes, glyphs, runewords and glyphwords.
  • Bonus overview and Synergy Score: see what your skills, armor and weapons add up to, and how well the build fits together.
  • Sharing: copy a link, download a build image (landscape or portrait), or post the build straight to r/witcher3builds on Reddit.

How Community Builds work

When you share a build from the planner, it is saved automatically to Community Builds. No account is needed. There you can search by build name, sword, mutation or notes, and filter by main skill tree, armor set and skill points (early game, mid game, late game or endgame). Sort by newest or most opened, and click any card to open that build in the planner, where you can tweak it into your own version.

Each week we mark up to six Featured Builds and pick one Build of the Week. They are chosen for being well thought out, playable and explained, not just for having the most points spent. Builds with good notes on how to play them have a clear advantage.

Build of the Week: Million Aard

Level 100 · 55 skill points · Hybrid (9 Combat, 21 Signs, 15 Alchemy, 10 General) · Mutation: Euphoria

The name says it all. Million Aard is an Aard powerhouse that turns the simplest Sign in the game into a finisher. Far-Reaching Aard and Shockwave sit in the Signs slots, backed by Magic Trap, and three of the four mutagens are blue to push Sign intensity even higher. Euphoria adds damage for every point of toxicity, and Wolf and Griffin School Techniques let the build use witcher gear to the fullest. Geralt wears Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Armor with the Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Steel Sword and Silver Sword.

The author’s combo is simple: drink three decoctions (Ancient Leshen, Ekimmara and Troll) plus Petri’s Philtre or a potion of your choice, build up Adrenaline with the crossbow, place a Magic Trap and hit the enemy with Aard. It is also the most opened Featured Build so far.

Combat Magic Wolf

Level 40 · 59 skill points · Hybrid (19 Combat, 28 Signs, 0 Alchemy, 12 General) · Mutation: Conductors of Magic

If you cannot decide between sword and Signs, this one is for you. Combat Magic Wolf mixes fast and strong attacks with a heavy Signs investment, and runs one red mutagen for the combat group, two blue for the Signs groups and a green one for extra vitality. Conductors of Magic ties it together by letting your sword damage boost your Signs. The gear is a full Wolven set with Grandmaster Wolven Armor, the Grandmaster Wolven Steel Sword and Silver Sword, and the Ursine Crossbow, with Wolf School Techniques in a slot.

Ultimate Griffin

Level 50 · 54 skill points · Signs (4 Combat, 23 Signs, 11 Alchemy, 16 General) · Mutation: Piercing Cold

A Griffin build for players who like to keep enemies on the ground. Far-Reaching Aard, Shockwave and Piercing Cold make Aard a real threat, while Magic Trap, Fortified Signs and Griffin School Techniques cover the Yrden and defensive side. The green mutagen in the alchemy group, together with Acquired Tolerance and Tissue Transmutation, gives room for a long list of decoctions: the author runs Ancient Leshen, Ekhidna, Chort, Nightwraith and Basilisk. Gear is full Grandmaster Griffin, including Grandmaster Griffin Armor, the Grandmaster Griffin Steel Sword and Silver Sword.

Best All-Round Endgame Sign Build

Level 55 · 53 skill points · Signs (0 Combat, 31 Signs, 15 Alchemy, 7 General) · Mutation: Euphoria

This is a pure Signs build with blue mutagens in every group, Euphoria as the mutation and Synergy and Metabolic Control to make the most of them. It wears Grandmaster Griffin gear and leans on Yrden: the author’s advice is to stay inside your Yrden traps and cast Igni or Aard there for boosted damage, and to use Quen’s Active Shield to quickly stack the Ancient Leshen decoction, or as a big heal when a fight goes wrong.

The recommended decoctions are Ekimmara, Ekhidna, Ancient Leshen and Troll to max out toxicity, with Arachas as a swap for Ancient Leshen if you don’t need the stamina regeneration. Prefer to stay away from melee? The notes suggest swapping Resonance for Delusion or another Sign skill, and the author recommends the Entanglement glyphword for its bigger Yrden circles in the Remastered version.

Level 20 Mid/Late Game Griffin Build

Level 20 · 36 skill points · Signs (0 Combat, 23 Signs, 9 Alchemy, 4 General) · No mutation

Not every build has to wait for Blood and Wine. This one shows how strong a Signs witcher can be already at level 20, with Enhanced Griffin Armor, the Enhanced Griffin Steel Sword and Enhanced Griffin Silver Sword, and Yrden and Quen skills on four blue mutagens. The catch is that you need extra skill points from Places of Power, and the notes explain where to find them: the ones in White Orchard plus the Velen and Skellige Places of Power that aren’t locked behind quests.

The notes also cover toxicity. Since you start with a low toxicity limit, begin with the Ekimmara and Troll decoctions, add Ancient Leshen as alchemy recipes raise your limit, and finally Ekhidna. It is a great pick if you want a guide to follow during the middle of the game rather than a finished endgame setup.

Want your build featured?

Open the Build Planner, put together your build, give it a name and write a few lines in the notes about how to play it: which decoctions to drink, how to open a fight, what to do when things go wrong. Then press share, and it lands in Community Builds right away. Clear notes are the single biggest thing that gets a build picked. If you post it to r/witcher3builds as well, other players can discuss it there.
