CD Projekt Red has slipped a little piece of The Witcher 3 into Night City. Cyberpunk 2077’s update 2.5, released on October 22, 2026 alongside the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, quietly adds a handful of items inspired by Geralt‘s adventures. None of it appears in the official update announcement; players spotted the gear in the game a day later, and outlets such as Dexerto and Instant Gaming News picked up the find on October 23.
The Witcher items in Night City
The first social media posts about the discovery listed four items, and later write-ups added a fifth:
- Sihil, a blade named after the dwarven swords of the Witcher world, like the Mahakaman Sihil. Guides list it as an Iconic melee weapon.
- Ursine Jacket and Ursine Pants, modelled on the heavy armor of the School of the Bear, the same look as Geralt’s Ursine Armor.
- The Professor’s Spectacles, which Dexerto describes as a nod to the Hearts of Stone expansion.
- Boar Carver, a knife that Dexerto says resembles the blade Geralt uses to take trophies from slain monsters. It was not in the original post, but later reports and guides include it.
So far there is no official item list or statement from CD Projekt Red about the crossover, so treat the exact set as player-reported until the studio confirms it.
How to get the gear
According to player reports, the set arrives through a fixer-style contact named Ariadne. After installing update 2.5, V gets a message from her about new clothing and an offer to become a brand ambassador. Accept, and she arranges a delivery to V’s original apartment in Megabuilding H10 in Watson, where a box just inside the door holds the items.
The exact trigger is still a little unclear. Some guides say you have to finish one of the new side quests from update 2.5 and then let a day pass before Ariadne’s second message arrives, while others say there is no progress requirement at all. If the delivery does not show up straight away, completing a new quest and skipping time seems to be the safest bet. One guide also warns against picking the reply that sends her message to spam.
What else is in update 2.5
The Witcher items are a side treat in a much bigger patch. Update 2.5 brings dual-wielding of pistols and revolvers, new side content tied to Edgerunners 2, and cross-platform mod support through mod.io on consoles, a system GameSpot says works much like the mod support that arrived with The Witcher 3 Remastered. The update is out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version following a few days later.
It is not the first time CD Projekt Red has let its two worlds touch, and it is a nice reminder that the studio is still celebrating Geralt while work continues on Songs of the Past and The Witcher 4.
