Guillaume de Launfal is a young knight of Toussaint and the nephew of Palmerin de Launfal, the very picture of a knight errant. The first time Geralt meets him, he is charging a windmill, which, to be fair, turns out to hide a giant.
Getting into trouble seems to be his favorite pastime. Geralt later saves him from an enraged shaelmaar in a packed arena. Guillaume then asks the witcher for help with a personal matter concerning his beloved, the lady-in-waiting Vivienne de Tabris, which leads into the side quest The Warble of a Smitten Knight.
