Frightener is a 5-strength Close Combat unit with no special ability, a dependable body for any Monsters deck. Keep Biting Frost in mind, though: it drops every non-hero unit in Close Combat to 1 strength, on both sides.
You get it as a random reward for beating generic gwent players, so keep challenging merchants, innkeeps and villagers. It’s a base-game card and part of Collect ‘Em All.
A deck needs at least 22 unit cards, so plain units like this are what keep it legal. Monsters decks also have a useful perk: after each round, one random unit of yours stays on the battlefield.
