Ysgith Rune
The Ysgith rune is a rune in The Witcher 2 that is placed in a sword’s upgrade slot. It slightly raises the weapon’s damage (a 1.07 multiplier) and adds an 8% chance to cause bleeding.
Runes are a permanent upgrade, so it is worth saving them for a blade you plan to keep. With a base value of 200 orens and wide availability, the Ysgith rune is an easy way to give any slotted sword extra bleed potential.
How to obtain
Sold by Falas, Lockhart, Polycarp of Rinde, Thorak, the arena merchant, the blacksmith's helper (Chapter 2) and the Mysterious Merchant (Chapters 1-3). It can also be crafted from Diagram: Ysgith rune using 1 Essence of water, 1 Elemental stone and 8 Nekker heart; the diagram is sold by Lockhart, Thorak and the blacksmith's helper (Chapters 1 and 2).
