Overview
Crime and Punishment is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set on a peninsula east of the Ancient Crypt, with a follow-up in the village of Rogne in the Skellige Isles. Deal with it when you find it, since sailing too far away makes it fail.
The chained man
A man chained to a rock is being attacked by harpies. After Geralt kills them, the prisoner, Yorg, says he was framed for murder and begs to be freed. Geralt can release him, and Yorg promises to repay the favor if they ever meet again, or leave him to his punishment.
The truth in Rogne
On the northwest edge of Rogne, mourners gather at the grave of Yorg’s victim, his uncle Gretter, praising him as a good man. A young girl cries out that her brother was a good man too, and runs off. She is Yorg’s sister. She admits she lied to Yorg about their uncle because she disliked him, and her brother killed Gretter in a rage.
If Yorg was freed, Geralt can tell her so, and she promises never to lie again. Or he can tell her coldly that she has learned her lesson, which is the only option if Yorg was left to die.
