Overview
Coronation is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the end of the struggle for the throne of the Skellige Isles. It follows directly after King’s Gambit and fails if not completed before Battle Preparations.
What happens
After the gathering of the jarls at Kaer Trolde, Crach an Craite thanks Geralt for exposing who was behind the Vildkaarl massacre. It is time to choose a ruler, and Crach rides for the sacred grove of Gedyneith. Geralt can travel with him or make his own way.
A crowd has already gathered under the sacred oak. Donar an Hindar, the eldest of the jarls, presents the new ruler of Skellige: Cerys or Hjalmar, whichever of the two Geralt helped after the massacre in King’s Gambit.
After the victory speech, Madman Lugos storms off in fury at seeing another an Craite on the throne. The quest ends there, but it is worth staying to talk to the new ruler and the other guests about what lies ahead.
