Destination: Skellige is the main quest that takes Geralt to the Skellige Isles for the first time in The Witcher 3. Yennefer’s search for Ciri has led her to Ard Skellig, where she is staying in comfortable rooms near Kaer Trolde, and Geralt is to join her. The only problem is getting there: the waters around the archipelago are full of pirates, and not many captains in Novigrad are willing to make the trip.
Finding a ship
After asking around the port, Geralt finds Captain Wolverstone, who agrees to sail to Skellige. Whether he is unusually brave or just unusually drunk is hard to say. Either way, pirates attack the ship off the coast of the islands, and in the fight Geralt is thrown overboard. He wakes up face down on a beach in Skellige.
Kaer Trolde
From the shore, Geralt makes his way to Kaer Trolde, the seat of Jarl Crach an Craite of Clan an Craite. There he finds all the notable people of Skellige gathered for the funeral of King Bran, and an invitation to the wake that follows. The quest leads straight into The King is Dead, Long Live the King.
