The Blasphemer’s Outfit is a Chapter 1 side quest in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings that only exists on Dark difficulty. In Flotsam, Geralt can buy the diagrams for this cursed set of gear and have the dwarven blacksmith Berthold Candeleria forge every piece.
According to legend, three brothers were sent by the priestesses of Freya to recover treasures the dragon Ostreverg had stolen from her temple, each carrying diagrams for protective armor. The youngest abandoned his mission and was cursed, becoming the Blasphemer. He could not be beaten while wearing the complete set, yet died after losing a single gauntlet.
The outfit consists of an armor, boots, gauntlets, trousers, the steel sword Ultimatum and the silver sword Anathema. Wear all six and Geralt drains life from his enemies; draw a sword with any piece missing and the curse slowly eats away at his own health. It is not cheap either, at close to 2,000 orens for the diagrams alone. The quest fails if Chapter 1 ends before the set is finished or if the difficulty is changed.
