Overview
Man’s Best Friend is an unmarked secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It takes place at a lone hut beside the road northwest of Mulbrydale in Velen. It has no journal entry, so it is easy to ride past.
What happens
A wild dog is scratching at the door of the hut, trying to get in. After Geralt kills it, he can hear children talking inside. A girl answers the door and explains that they are hungry. The children in the hut are orphans, or were sent away from home because their families had too many mouths to feed.
Geralt can leave, or help by giving them food or 25 crowns. If he helps, the girl thanks him with a few small items, including the book In Beast’s Clothing.
Why it is worth doing
In Beast’s Clothing teaches the werewolf decoction formula and adds bestiary entries for werewolves and ulfhedinn if you do not have them yet. The 10 XP reward is fixed and is not reduced by level difference or difficulty.
