Overview
The Fall of the House of Reardon is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, recommended at level 6. It takes place at Reardon Manor in the Descent area of Velen, near Lindenvale. The quest fails if it is not finished before The Isle of Mists.
Dolores’ request
You can start it three ways: by watching Dolores Reardon get thrown out of a hut in Lindenvale, by reading the notice on the village board, or by stumbling on the manor. Dolores is an elderly widow who has come back to the region after her husband’s death. Her childhood home is overrun by monsters, and she promises Geralt the key to a lockbox holding her savings if he clears it.
What waits at the manor
What Geralt finds depends on a choice from The Witcher 2. If he spared Letho, there are no monsters, only traps and someone hiding in the barn, which starts Ghosts of the Past. If Letho died, the estate is haunted by wraiths that Geralt has to put down.
The brother in the wall
The optional part is the real story. A barn key in the northwest house opens the main building, where red writing visible with Witcher Senses points to the lockbox. Behind the barn a hidden stair leads to a cellar, and at the far end a weak wall hides a skeleton. It belongs to Humbert, Dolores’ twin brother, murdered by her first husband Roderick. When Geralt tells her, she is saddened but grateful. Later she moves back into the manor and can be found there.
