Overview
The Truth is in the Stars is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set in the village of Benek in the Descent area of Velen. It starts from a notice on the board in Oxenfurt warning of a swindler, or simply by visiting Benek. The XP drops once Geralt passes level 17.
The old sage
On the west side of the village an old man sits outside his hut and greets Geralt as if he had been waiting for him. He says he has visions, but his inner eye has dimmed with age. If Geralt wants a proper prophecy, he needs to bring dragonsroot.
Finding the root
The dragonsroot grows in a coastal cave southeast of Benek, guarded by four ghouls. Kill them and use Witcher Senses to spot the root. When Geralt brings it back, the sage delivers a vision full of lines that echo Ithlinne’s Prophecy. Whether he is a real seer or just a clever talker is left for the player to decide.
