Overview
A Favor for a Friend is a secondary quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the second part of Keira Metz‘s story in Velen. It begins after Geralt tells Keira that the curse on Fyke Isle has been lifted. Starting it locks out Lynch Mob if you have not done that yet, and it fails if not finished before The Isle of Mists.
The missing wagon
Keira was expecting a trader carrying rare ingredients, and he never arrived. Geralt reasons that the wagon must have passed through Hangman’s Alley. Drowners and a water hag wait there. After dealing with them, Geralt picks up wagon tracks near the signpost and follows them south into the forest.
The wrecked wagon has an inventory list mentioning catoblepas meat and a blood trail leading to a body guarded by a rotfiend. A chest under the wagon holds Keira’s package, miraculously intact. There is nothing magical about it.
Dinner under the stars
Keira admits the “ingredients” are delicacies she has missed during her exile in Velen. She wants to share them, and asks Geralt to play along as Prince Charming. Refusing ends the quest in failure. Agreeing leads to a race to a scenic spot (winning gives extra XP), dinner by the water, and the option of a romance scene with Keira. It does not affect romancing Yennefer or Triss later.
However the evening goes, it ends with Keira putting Geralt to sleep with a spell. He wakes at dawn to find her gone, and suspects she has sailed for Fyke Isle. That leads straight into For the Advancement of Learning.
Tip
Keira is one of the few reliable sellers of greater runes at this level. If you want to keep her as a vendor, pause the questline before the dinner.
