Assire var Anahid
In The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Assire var Anahid is a sorceress from the Nilfgaardian Empire, specifically from Vicovaro rather than the imperial capital, a difference the Empire’s nobility considers significant. Unlike the common image of Nilfgaardian sorceresses, she dresses elegantly and wears subtle makeup in the manner of Northern sorceresses.
Assire is murdered during the events in Loc Muinne. Her killers are thought to have been fellow Nilfgaardians, perhaps acting on the emperor’s orders, though the circumstances remain unclear. Her death becomes the subject of much speculation in Nilfgaard and fuels propaganda and political disputes there.
